This Drawing Board explains how the Federal Reserve operates and why it's structured the way it is. The Fed is in the news a lot these days, and we hope the video helps people understand the complicated institution a little better.

  • If it is just this innocent why can't we audit the Fed?

  • BEFORE Woodrow Wilson signed into being the Federal Reserve (and ended up on the $100,000 bill), when there was a crash, the economy recovered quickly. There was NO inflation during periods of U.S. history where there was no central bank. Bernanke telling Sen. Sanders, "No! I'm not going to tell you" is not what I would call being accountable. The U.S. prospered when the gov't printed its own money and circulated it INTEREST FREE. You can't argue with the facts.

  • This simple video illustrates well the role of the Fed (central bank) in the U.S.

  • The Fed itself claims that part of its job is to keep inflation in check. This is something like the tobacco industry claiming that it is trying to stop smoking or the automobile industry claiming that it is trying to control road congestion. The Fed is in the business of generating inflation. Inflation - an artificial increase in the supply of money and credit — the entire reason for Fed's existence is to generate more, not less of it.

  • At about 2:12 in, there is a map of the Federal Reserve Banks. It seems to have a dot for Washington, which has not Federal Reserve Bank, but leaves out either St. Louis or Kansas City. Also, there is no mention of the new tool of the Fed, the ability to pay interest on reserves. But perhaps that was deemed too technical.

  • At any time we all can become 501c3. start our own charity and donate to each other like a pyramid and not pay taxes. You know, like all the rich folks do. Really side steps this B.S. -AAN

  • "Setting monetary policy begins with the goal that any action the FOMC might take should help keep the purchasing power of the dollar STABLE OVER TIME"

Are you KIDDING ME? Is this some sort of sick joke? The US Dollar has declined by 95% in purchasing power since your "bank" took over.

This is a snakeoil salesman's video from an institution which has helped generate more destruction than most could fathom or know of...but word is spreading fast.

  • Keep up the "GOOD WORK" Fed, we'll be bankrupt in no time. Ben Bernanke is our savior!

    *sarcasm added

  • Audit the Fed.

Allow competing currencies by making them legal and convertible to FRNs to pay taxes.

Allow competing metal based currencies - to shut up the gold and silver bugs.

Cancel all debt the US government owns to the FED. Eliminate interest on loans to the US government through the Federal Reserve System (even the secondary markets).

    cont'd

  • cont'd...

    Require 75% reserves.

    Required audited mark-to-market balance sheets.

Keep the state chartered banks to process checks - make state loans, reapplying the interest into the state general fund- pay the bank a resonable fee for this.

Abolish the IRS and the illegal income tax.

Then as good money drives out bad and all FRNs become worthless...

    END THE FED

  • I think you forgot to mention that the 12 regional banks have shareholders and that these shareholders arent made public. Pretty key information in my opinion.

  • you forgot to mention how we pay interest on money created out of thin air

    audit the fed
