Its a match that has itched in my memory for years.Not the least because I was a spectator in the stadium(Still have no clue if I appear somewhere during the clips,couldnt figure).SA had been unbeaten till then and had controlled everything coming their way but this day they couldnt control the master,Brian Lara.I remember,we in the crowd were all at awe at the majestic display put on by him and couldnt believe watching Jonty turn into a clueless dunk as balls whizzed past him at Lara's will.

well, 1996 World Cup 3rd quarter final and South Africa lost and 2011 World cup 3rd quarter final South lost by chasing. I m a big fan of SA team but realy sad that such a good team always fails to qualify to the main part of the game.

well lara was always brilliant playing at national stadium karachi. Exactly 10 years after this in 2006,lara smashed us for one the quickest 100s off 72 balls in a test match but in the 2nd innings umar gul got him bowled for a duck and we won the match and series 2-0
