I think the subtext here is "Just stfu and enjoy the music and videos" YES they are playing characters. I think it's awesome. They know they aren't really these characters but it's annoying as fuck that people keep dissecting that. If you think about it, they are probably making a statement about rap personas in general. They're usually fake. Even the ones that once were in the ghetto, as soon as they get famous they're living like the 1% not a gangster.

"I am asking how you feel about the debate online" says the interviewing man.....but what does this have to do with the interview?? It can be answered online at another more convenient date. They traveled like hours and hours in jet planes almost from another planet, probably having jetlag, and the man is asking them these rhetorical questions, which would anger anyone in their position after doing that much of traveling.
