Peace isn't about god, very correct.  It is about us recognizing and respecting the beauty of our differences.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who hate when people are different and use the name of god (or alllah, buddha, or what have you) as a rallying cry for their hate.

I wouldn't say that. There have been many atrocities and evils commited in the name of god by genuine believers.

Evil is the absence of good. A harmful action that benefits no-one, or where the harm is selfish and highly disproportionate to the good it creates.

@Chainedflesh God is good. Through his Son, he teaches love, compassion and respect for life. Dis God all you want, but it is He that condemns evil and atrocities, and those who use his name to commit them. There are fringe idiots out there that would commit evil acts and say it is in His name, and He keeps score. Those that hate, kill or harm in his name do not know God as they think they do. In recognizing and respecting the beauty of our differences, that IS God's way. Love thy neighbor

I know this happened a while ago, but I'd like to say that, as an Atheist toward the Christian God, I have never done anything truly evil. Yes, I've lied and stolen and said cruel things to others, but what person hasn't? To say I'm evil without God, that is not right. Love thy neighbor, don't call them evil because they don't have the same views as you.

well, you all (most of you) are still in the 5-8 year old stage. you can't ...comprehend anything above that level, let alone, being a 39 year old. most people i see are stuck in their (USA) 12th grade class and they stay that way, for the rest of their lives. you can open your mind, don't be affraid.
