This is not actually the first film version of 20,000 Leagues, but it is the first version that had underwater footage. Universal Film Manufacturing teamed up with underwater experts Ernest and George Williamson to make this terrific movie.
It's actually fascinating, but they do linger a lot on the underwater scenes. But you can't blame them for that, considering the trouble they went to get the footage.
The story itself is not quite true to the book, there are three interwoven tales and a lot of action.
The Nautilus is nothing like the Disney version, it appears to be very much like a "Holland". This was apparently a mock-up, I chased down the various 1900-1920 Hollands, and the ones I could find had been scrapped or lost before 1916.
But that's when I sudden had a "huh" moment: This movie was filmed while the Great War was in progress. Featuring what would become one of the most controversial weapons in any navies arsenal: A ship built for sneak attacks.
Which is what Jules Verne intended the Nautilus to be in the first place.
Which brings us to the song: Bad Fish, by Sublime. Grimly and ironically prophetic, here is the rock bottom and a final reach of a hand upwards for the surface. Drowning, literally and figuratively.
Barracuda and sharks are both to be found scavenging the dark waters when you go under, whether or not you can escape them ultimately depends on you.
You can get the movie at the Internet Archive, but it is still available for sale. Read the reviews, the film has not been restored, but there are better and worse copies to be found.

Is this the entire film?

No, the entire film is available at the Internet Archive. It's in fairly good shape, and though it doesn't faithfully follow the original story, it's fun and interesting to see the old style diving.
