For those who don't know (and as I forgot to mention in the narration, LOL), Black and White introduced a new EXP effect. If you defeat a Pokemon that's at a higher level than you, you get more EXP. If it's lower in level, it yields less. The greater the difference, the greater the effect.

I decided to see just how crazy this mechanic could get within current legal parameters. So I PokeShifted myself a Level 1 Gastly to face Nurse Fumie's Level 65 Audino. The Gastly's effectively traded, and it holds a Lucky Egg. Audino's owned by a Trainer, and it has a 64-level difference in its favor.

The result? Mind-blowing craziness.

  • To all comments pertaining to my voice:

This isn't necessarily my real voice, so to speak. I'm still seeking methods to capture my voice as clear as possible, but with this microphone and Audacity, I might not achieve that anytime soon.

Also, this video got quite a surge of views. Holy crap.

  • I've been searching for a video like this for some time now, insane amount of EXP. I'd like to figure this out with a lv 100 Blissey.

For maximum EXP, the lv 1 pkmn has to be like a japanese pkmn traded to like a US game, or maybe you even need a pkmn from previous generation games. you will get x 1.7 instead of 1.5. And of course holding a Lucky Egg.

The amount would be even crazier than this, I guess you can somehow calculate that but there is not much info about the new EXP system yet...

  • @trinix777 Well, I can't vouch for accuracy, but someone already posted such a calculation on Bulbapedia, and the amount is stated to be over 1,000,000. That basically means that any Pokemon not in the "Fluctuating" EXP group (which contains only 14 known species) will jet from Lv.1 all the way to Lv.100; those Fluctuators would only reach 99, XD.

Again, can't vouch for its accuracy.

  • next step, lvl 100 Audino, lvl 1 Gastly.

  • @MAGNEDETH I think you mean Lv.100 Blissey, LOL.

  • Where did you get ghastly did you trade it over please answer i've been searching for weeks for a ghastly or Haunter!

  • There is no code for this.

  • i thought that a ghastly on steroids was called a cloyster.....

  • Waah, in old times, we didn't have such exp boost(s). D:

  • And people say AR provides the most Extreme EXP Boost

  • @Mileyisawhore99 lol i was drinking and just spat my drink al over my trousers thanks bro xD

  • If THIS is a lot...

Bulbapedia says that it's possible to get instantly from level to 1 to 100 (99 for Fluctuating group). Anyway, it would give a 1,581,409 EXP. OMFG. (Check Bulbapedia).

  • @preske

NO. Idiot. Before this, it was possible to get about 13,600 EXP at max, which would get a 25 levels for level 1 Medium Slow experience group Pokémon.
