Smoky Hill High School's Advanced Women's Chorale singing "Wie Lieblich sind deine Wohnungen" by Joseph Rheinberger at the 2009 Major Works concert.

How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord Almighty!
My sould yearns, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart exults in the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home,
And the swallow a shelter from the storm.
I find a place near your altar,
O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who swell in your house;
They are ever praising you.

The Lord loves mercy and truth,
And to those who walk blameless,
He gives grace and splendour.

  • does anyone know the composer to this song? all the other wie lieblich's that i've found say brahms and are a completely different version. Or a link to a good recording to this song??? that would be much appreciated, thanks : )

  • the recording sucks big time. I think the piece would have been better if you guys would have done it acapella and slow it down that way it would have had MUCH more meaning and feeling to it. You guys are a relatively nice sized choir, but you still are not a mass choir therefore there was no need to take it that fast. Bad move on the director's part.
