Roger Bannister -Gold Medal- 1954 European Championships,Bern. 1500 metres final

Bannister had one helluva 1954....the first man ever to break the magical 4 minute mile barrier in May,followed,in early August,by his win over new world record holder John Landy in the classic"Mile Of The Century" at the Empire Games in Canada.Here,just a few weeks after that victory ,in the European Championships held in Bern,Bannister outkicks Dane Gunnar Nielsen to take gold,a couple of seconds shy of the world record. It was his last race,retiring from athletics at just 25 years old.
