  • Go New Orleans, Go!

  • tax those with the least the most? An inconsiderate plan it seems. "punishing failure" in this scheme hurts those who have suffered from a failed system. What this competition is looking for is forward thinking, not selfish or greedy. The goal is to have NOLA rise as a phoenix, not an engorged vulture.

  • Be like Canada - big breaks for job creating businesses - and even more breaks for creating technology related jobs. For a city to grow - or regrow it needs a technology base. Start-ups that will attract the young and rich. An internet company could buy a building and house the data center in another city.

  • what song is this? I know it's theresa anderson, but what song?

  • great idea but goverment will never go for it

  • An old, old idea will work fine. A Progressive Tax Rate. You get taxed 38% on your first $10,000 of income. 25% upto $35,000. 10% upto $100,000. Over that it is 0%. You'll have more entrepreneurs than you know what to do with. You'll just have to get the state and federal governments to buy in. Reward people for success and punish them for failure. A wacky idea.

  • fabulous

  • Incredible video. This is an great time to be in New Orleans. The 504ward competition that the Idea Village announced last night is an important harbinger of a new era of entrepreneurship in New Orleans. The scale of this competition shows we are really serious about attracting and supporting star-ups. Congrats to Idea Village and to Benjamin Reese for producing a beautiful video.
