On February 2, 2008, millions of people around the world mourned the death of President Gordon B. Hinckley of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

Speaking of his long-time "cherished friend and colleague" and fellow Church leader, President Thomas S. Monson paid tribute to Gordon B. Hinckley Saturday as a "giant among men."

Quoting an unnamed poet, President Monson said: "'Here and there, and now and then, God makes a giant among men.' President Hinckley was such a giant -- a giant of knowledge, of faith, of testimony, of compassion, of vision."

what a wonderful man he was ! He was our father, prophet seer and revelator, He was an ordained man of God ! I am sorry for his loss, he is with his wife and mother , and sisters in the arms of our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ.
