Watercolour painting en plein air at the Streetly Gate entrance to Sutton Park. It's a little cold so I've stayed in the car to stay warm! There's just enough room for my easel in the drivers seat. I've got my usual materials of:
PAPER: 15" x 11" Fabriano watercolor paper weighing 130lb.

BRUSHES: Large Ron Ranson hake, system 3 Daler Rowney ¾" flat and number 3 rigger.

COLOURS: Cotman watercolour tubes of Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, Light Red, Ultramarine, Lemon Yellow, Payne's Gray and Alizarin Crimson.

My paintings are for sale via my website at http://www.StevenCronin.com

Thanks for watching.

  • Beautiful watercolor! Oh, I remember how I paint watercolors a few years ago. There was bitter cold (20 degrees below zero), and brush freeze to paper:))) Good was a time ... :)

  • @InnaHeisenyuk it never gets quite that cold here. It was certainly warmer sat in the car!

  • Ca ressemble à chez nous!!!!

    Merci du partage!

  • @leisititine1 thanks for watching

  • Hey this turned out good for a painting in the car. I might have to try this I know of a high hill with a great view.

  • @henrycems I would definitely give it a go. It may seem a little cramped at first but it’s just a case of making the most of the room you have. Best of luck.

  • @bsonenthal1 Before I started I didn’t know if there would be enough room just to paint, never mind videoing the thing. Fortunately there is just enough room to do both. Yes, I will definitely be making another painting video outside in the next few days, hopefully before the snow melts. I think these outdoor ones are potentially a lot more interesting.

  • steven; nice challenge for a plein air (in-the-car) interpretive watercolor..any problem setting up the camera? if not will you be persuing more attempts in the future ?
