A chord has his own band and it's called Sea Level.
The band members of Dong Cheng Wei are all Jiro's high school friends, i think there are 5 members. Jiro as the lead singer, Xui as the guitarist, the guy thats bald is the bass guitarist and then there's the drummer and Xui's little brother - not sure what he plays x_X".

how long has this band been out? Is he also the lead singer of his band?

I'm not sure about a Chord's band - you don't really hear much about it.
According to his blog entries, i think Sea Level only plays together at special occasions, otherwise they work separately. And yes, i think he is the lead singer as well. I'm not exactly sure, but i hope this helps.
