Aw, that is so cute! My niece has a trachy too & we are looking into getting her a speaking valve to help her as it doesn't look like she'll be decanned anytime soon.

The beeping is a pulse oximeter. Tommy is also a "heart" baby and we were monitoring his oxygen saturation levels. The beeping was because he was excited and his heart rate was going up higher than the monitor was set. Not dangerous, just annoying, lol!

how come he had to go to the hospital when he had the flu its just like a cold

Tommy goes to the hospital when he has the flu because the flu can kill Tommy. He is a very sick little boy. He has several heart defects, lung disease, secondary pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs)and is on oxygen 24/7. When he gets the flu, he can't breathe and has to be in the hospital getting medications, IV fluids, and a lot more oxygen than we can give him at home. It's very scary. We can't have him around crowds because he can get sick very easily.
