Home Intruder Shot While Breaking In

Ryan Realford, a minor, was suspected of selling drugs on the street, and when he noticed his behavior being observed by an officer, he bolted, and attempted to gain entry to a nearby house by removing a screen door. The homeowner told Realford to cease, and shot him when he refused.

Police say it is unlikely the homeowner will be charged.

That kid should not have broke into a home but this is another case where the homeowner was justified, it is sad that it went down the way it did. This is a prime example of what the "war on drugs" produces.

Home defense is not guns it is keep the bad people outside long enough for you to call the cops and for them to get there (50 minutes). That also mean when you are not there. So you don’t have to shoot them and have nightmares the rest of your life. Only after you set up you first, second, and third line of defense do you worry about a stupid gun. But do get a stupid so you can shoot the bad people if the cops don’t show un in the 50 minutes.

Although I feel bad for the Realford family, the kid brought this on himself. The only way to be shot while breaking into someone's house is to break into someone's house. Not exactly brain surgery.

Someone trying to break into your home; you point a gun at them and tell them to stop; they don't. Shooting is a necessity in that situation--they have demonstrated an EXTREME threat by continuing in that situation.

I feel the relatives are furious too late: they should be furious at each other some teen years ago for not raising their baby appropriately.
