This is soon to be a movie called Death Rides a Loud Pony! Ha I can hear the evening news now, A Honda Elite scooter was found on the back wall of a garage with a rick a shaw pressed against it, 2 bodies were found pancaked between the contraption. Police suspect fowl play, seems the driver swerved to avoid some chickens in the road!

@Gunnarsguns You can buy a new Honda CT110 in Austrialia. No market here, but I think there could be as gas goes up and folks need something practical.

@InTheSticks1881 They need to bring those trail 90`s back

Nice trailer. Actually it did quite good, but that extra wieght would wear it out quickly. I'm gonna try that with a Honda Trail 90 as it has a selectable hi/lo range trans. The low range gears give tons of power, but a slow top speed of around 20mph. Not bad if the brakes can't handle faster. Those Trail 90's are built really strong compared to any bike.

LOL. I am rather surprised the luggage rack supported both trailer & passenger. Even with most passenger weight over trailer tires, still a lot to pull. If the luggage rack eventually falls off while towing, trust you'll have & post video of the event - and poor Bill. ;)
Planning a small trailer (light loads, not passenger) for my scooter & will use the tire rubber described (seen on other such trailers) to attach it. Might use hitch arm (low mounting point) attached to the muffler mount.
@TheILLTechnics yeah! For being a 22 year old motor, I can't believe how great that thing runs!! If only China could figure out what Japan has...

Cool little setup, however sounds like the scooter is straining a bit. Maybe trailer too heavy?

Oh man, that thing was huffin and puffin... I mean, it doesnt help that it's 20 years old.. But yeah, the trailer is steel and we're two grown men on a 49cc motor.

A better hitching method is a 1-inch side strip, about six inches long, cut from the side of an old car tire (tough & sturdy). Loop that around scooter rack and attach both ends to the trailer hitch (bolt with wing-nut and/or lock pin through all three). The strip will flex as you lean and turn, and absorb some of shock when trailer tires hit rough terain. A lower mounting point is better for handling, but that requires a towing hitch on the scooter.

You mean even better than an old padlock we found in the garage bolted right on to the 20 year old, weathered, luggage rack that is attached with fiberglass???!!! No way. heh.
