  • Ya if you just use the bagger they don't get cut up enough and it fills up very fast. Mulching then using the bagger to vacuum it up does work better.

  • @lmen255 good points there. the leaves are mulched smaller that way. eric.

  • I really enjoyed watching this. Do more videos on other topics!

  • @tanagaba you can watch all our fun videos on cooking, gardening, DIY, and other fun stuff on our site GardenFork.TV

  • I'll bag them like you do, but then I put them in a big rubbermaid trash can ( the kind you use outside) then stick my weed eater in there and chop em up...wear some safety glasses, because it has a tendency to spit them all over the place if you fill it too full.

I only put about half a can at a time.

You can cut them into quarter or dime size pieces or smaller...works really great!

  • @bmeyer44 hey thanks for that idea, have to try that one. thx, eric.

  • yea do all this stupid shit because raking them into a big pile next to the woods would have been way too simple ... lol@polluting mowers, bagging bullshit and chicken wire circles ... save the earth ... kill a yuppie :)

  • My problem is the composter the city provides can't accommodate all the leaves therefore about 25% fill the composter and the remainder is currently in a large pile in the back of my yard, trying to see if there is method to accelerate the breakdown of leaves. Hopefully I can already use this compost in the spring.

  • not very mulched LOL

  • LMAO @ 1:29

  • Don't forget to add nitrogen to those leaves. Looks like you have a nice, private yard so you might can get away with the yard urine trick. :-)

  • @erochow - Thank you for telling us about leaf mold. I will "Google" that topic.

  • @tomco78 if you google 'leaf mold' you'll learn all about it. brown leaves are high in carbon, FYI.
