Its FINALLY here... the new canon plug in for FCP that allows you to import your canon footage directly into FCP using the Log and Transfer controls. I run down the practical use of it, and show how to use it with an IMAGE of your data and not off the card itself.

  • Mine still needs to render, how do i stop this, please help!

  • @DoeDoeStreet If you have to render it is because the clip and the timeline are not EXACTLY matched. Try dropping a single clip into a fresh blank timeline. FCP will set the timeline to match the clips specs. NOW, copy your OTHER timeline in its entirety and paste it into the new timeline that has the correct setting. THAT should do it.

  • glad I could help out... its a pretty good utility... i just wish there were more output options... Prores is not always the best thing to work in.

  • HEy Man thanks so much. Very well done and helped me out a ton!

  • Hey man, this was great! Well Done and thanks so much for sharing that. Helped a ton!

  • Any idea on how to import clips that were shot at 60fps while having the plugin do the conforming to whatever the timeline frame rate is (say 60fps-24fps) I feel it unnecessary to import the video onto my computer just to have to conform it then load it into FCP and then yet again have to render my file. Any idea on how to get around this? Even if I could just have the plugin conform my clip instead of converting it to 60fps@30fps would be great.

  • I was having a hard time editing my work on FCP, but this tutorial of yours is supper great help. Thanks for sharing the video.
