What a shame theyve gone. Just packing away the Christmas decorations-some of which my mum bought from Woolies nearly 40 years ago! Good luck to all the staff and hope they find work soon.

i loved woolies because when i went down the high street with my mum. we used to always go in there. plus i was going to get my nintendo ds lite there, but now i can. i wish someone had the money, so they could buy it and it would still be here.

i remember going to woolies for my pick n mix, dvds, cds and anything cheap that i can get my hands on and i will miss woolies a lot the other shops ain't got nothin on woolies Lol, but still i want woolies to be back! :'(

Another year still miss Woolies, specially at this time of year, still brings a tear to my eye, sad or what, grew up with Woolies never be anything like it, tho Wilkinsons is trying to copy format, not quite the same however

Privately owned businesses would be great. But Tesco was once privately owned, who's to say how big your privately owned business can become?

what a joke! It's these major corporations that are sending our farmers broke. They pay pittance for produce yet sting the consumer and send families broke. Yeah, I'll miss them alright. pity it wasn't a global closure . Bring back the family owned businesses. And to all the ignorant that rate my comment and or respond. A clear FUCK YOU in advance :)

I'll miss woolworths, and being able to ocationally walk past and call it something slightly different when a light went out on one of the letters from time to time. Quite oftern it was funny, and it was fun to do. Now it's going to be Iceland. I'm not too miffed by that, cause i like iceland.
