i don't understand how it was possible landing in the 15 runaway, the only approach permitted is on the 33, same runway but on other side making a circle visual landing...the 15 one does not oppotunity to go around with a jetplane, was it a little plane?
I would say it was correct. They touched down right in the touch-down-zone. The approach were a bit low, so they extended the flare. That wasn´t dangerous. It´s OK.
@icebird1961 If you notice, they touchdown at 39:00 because the camera starts shaking a lot and noises are different. In that point of the runway, for an md-80 in such a short runway, they touchdown too long from the point where they should!!
Approach too low !! They landed way too short on the displaced threshold - that's wrong AND unsafe ! There had been numerous accident, due to pilots landing too short on the beginning of the runway insted at the designated Tocu-down zone- which is the marked white aerea BEHIND the numbers (visual aiming point) - remeber: ALWAYS be at 50 feet "over the numbers" - according to FCTM, FOM etc - that was a poor landing !
