  • the machines can read address' not just post codes. If it can't the machines send the image to MDEC (Manual Data Entry Center), where I or my colegues type in the relative info. If we can't read it quickly then then it goes to manual sort.

We can't read red envelopes, they just appear as a black screen on my computer. At christmas we take on 1000 extra staff to cope with the extra demand.

  • i enjoyed that.

  • @bigmanchillin2007 One further thing I would like to correct about what he said when saying it's a very clever machine, it's actually not; IT systems are incredibly dumb lol.

But they have to be since the cleverness is all in the IT company that designed what the system should do (or machine rather) and the people that constructed and programmed the AI in it (yes it will have some form of artificial intelligence, to read peoples writing).

  • @bigmanchillin2007 No its very good I think, my local ones not bad at all, they really do a very good job and obviously take pride in good service, occasionally there's problems.

I mean how about this for an ace service, once due to a redelivery coming in on a Saturday (of which they did do as well), I had another missed one later in the week, on the Friday and the lady on the phone, offered to find if the postal worker had gone, they hadn't so she got it sorted at the same time.

  • @ilman001 - f0r y0u, it's been a minute, but I did n0t realize h0w brilliant the p0stal service is. Peace.

  • that's brilliant! straight brilliant! The p0stal system is bri...well, y0u kn0w.

    @ ilman001- I enj0yed that t00.

  • Sad
