Translator Wave 3 Checkpoint

For anyone that is struggling with the Translator of Lahkesis here's how to skip the first two stages

At the heart of this checkpoint trickery is the High Jump technique. I've covered this before but it basically involves using

an ascension type move
a subweapon specific attack
changing subweapon
then jumping

Going around the door requires you to leap out toward the open window, using Might of the King when at max height gives a little lift, changing sub weapon mid way through MotK puts Kratos in a situation where he can jump again, when he is already an ascension + a MotK above the ground.

It is necessary to ascend from the small podium as attempts to clear the door from ground level will cause you to grab the ledge above the door, to no avail. Seems you can only jump through the wall in one direction.

On the return journey don't be put off by the fact that you are unsighted. Even though you can't see Kratos the camera still follows his rise and the timing of the high jump isn't super critical.

Sure it isn't the checkpoint right at the start of wave 3 that everyone would like and it takes about 30 seconds to navigate to the fight but any edge you can get in the this fight is worth having, especially in PAIN conditions.

ALSO The one drawback is that the Translator's HP bar is no longer visible, not such a big deal with General Kratos as two hits, or one collision and the Translator shuffles off this mortal coil and becomes an ex-Translator. To be honest it is a trade off that I am more than willing to accept.

I can't get the timing right, only seem to get Might of the King to appear 1 in 7 tries. Anyway what is Icarus Lift? simply holding X?

One more thing, if I save, will there be any bugs or glitches for the rest of my playthrough? Thanks

To clarify only press L1 once you are in the air

@IntricationZ oh Triangle. Anyway is it possible to do it with a normal "hold triangle" jump instead of icarus ascension? I'm not at my PS3 right now so I can't try it.

I don't know of it being an issue with the collection *got it but haven't played it yet.

You want to press L1 as the wings are folding away.

Are you just tapping L1, if so make the press more deliberate, then once the MotK animation begins tap start.

If it is any consolation the return journey is a lot easier to make.

Also this skip will not cause any problems later, I've played to completion after doing it.

@addaminsain Iep i'm doing that already. but can you go into more detail at the timing where you press for Motk? I've tried all sorts of timings, and the successful tries seem to come randomly. :( thanks

ps. I'm on the GOW Collection for PS3, is it an issue?

@IntricationZ Make sure you've got the Hammer equipped *and do an attack with it* before you do Icarus Ascension then press L1 on the way up, that should perform MotK every time.

Practise it out in the open first.

Icarus lift is the double jump. Just press X to perform it.

It's a great "shortcut", but I had a hard time getting on the stupid ledge, on the way back.

When I finally did, I used the 15k orbs I was saving up and maxed out AQ, and I passed this damned fight.

I'm not as PRO as you to use high jump with such ease.
