Lo que mucha gente no sabe que antes que Luis Miguel decidiera versionar en arreglo moderno los boleros, Trini Lopez fue uno de los 1eros artistas en hacer un crossover con arreglos muy pop. Estos los hizo el productor talentoso, Don Costa. En este caso la idea fue con canciones mexicanas y otros temas populares. Lo que hizo Luis Miguel con Romance fue igual solo que el lapso de tiempo vario y volvio la idea de modernizar con arreglos temas clasicos de otros generos populares.

Can you fill me in on whether Guantanamera is Cuba's national anthem as zeoli2 commented on my Guantanamera's posting ( by the Sandpipers) Muchas gracias.

Oldie, Guantanamera is NOT Cuba's National Anthem. The lyrics, however, are taken from "Jose Marti's - Versos Sensillos". He is the George Washington of Cuba and was a very prolific poet, also.
