From a half hour solo set (pianorama) on the first full day of the Sun Valley festival, 10/18/07. In addition to the camera being outside of the room (accounting for the din of conversation, and the traffic), the "backdrop" was a large picture window (accounting for the washout). Nevertheless, this (along with Bye Bye Blackbird/2) is posted to document the event, as I'm happy with the playing - so hopefully you'll judge this on the music. Too bad you can't see the beautiful snow scene out the window behind me. At the end of the toon, while admiring the snow, I succumbed to a couple of Christmas quotes. My brief "explanation" thereafter provoked amusement in Jimmy Lawlor (Midiri brothers drummer, who, came to my set) who you can hear expressing that at the very end (sometimes Jimmy is easily amused) :) Hope you like it.

Joe: As usual I hate those who don't listen and muddle the sound. Is there an extension to camcorders' microphones that could be placed at the piano and ignore background noise? If not, someone needs to invent it. See you soon for more great "toons'. Pete

Of course there are other sound options, such as you suggest. In most of these settings however, and certainly this one, there is little opportunity for that, without additional equipment and personnel. Probably, at some point, I will cease posting this "video journal" in this manner, and only post when I can generate more "professional" quality video. Right now, I am enjoying "taking you to the gig" with me. That's it.
