I wanted to go darker and enlisted the master colorist at Aveda to help me do so as naturally as possible.
Who knew hair dye had so many synthetics you- and your hair and your colorist-should avoid!
I'm glad Aveda has phased 96-99% of them out, so this is full-on feel-good color.

Full discloser: I haven't colored my hair in six years and researched a ton to find the best eco brand to help me go brunette and contacted Aveda. They let me to do this experiment pro bono and answered all my detailed questions in the process and were simply amazing! Give Ian a kiss for me if you go visit him in the NY flagship salon:-)

  • Thanks for sharing your new hair color find! Do you know if this hair color at Aveda is safe during pregnancy? How do you recommend covering a few grays during pregnancy??

  • @flamingopink9 Great question. I would imagine so, but check with the salon: I got to the New York Vandam Street salon - they are quite helpful and their number is (212) 473-0280. They should also be able to help you find a great salon near you - if this is not.

  • AND do they sell their hair dyes in stores?

  • @Muska5 Hi! And apologies am replying SO late!! They don't sell hair dye in stores, but they do an amazing and such a natural job at the salons that I would highly recommend it! They would cover grays for sure. They can do anything!

  • Dyed my hair like 3 times

  • @YurieXoxoSong1004 Yay! At Aveda or elsewhere? I love playing with color now that I finally know there's a more natural option.

  • @ethicalbella

    thanks :)

  • Oh no! Where do you live MrsOtter19?

  • Does it cover greys? I always wanted to go to natural dyes. I have recently turned to hennas but it's a long and messy process. Please let me know if it works on grey hair as well. Thanks :)
