Helpless When She Smiles (S2) Chapter 31

Lisa puts the magazine down on the coffee table and pushes herself up off the couch. She makes her way over to the table by one of the windows and pours another cup of coffee from the pot that had been left there. It was pretty much cold by now but she really didn't care it was caffeine and that's what she needed. She stood staring out the widow watching as the sun rose higher, it's rays reflecting off the buildings across the street. She looked down and watched as people rushed along the sidewalks and roads, caught up in their daily lives. She wondered if there were any people down there that were as happy as she was, was anyone In Love with someone who Loved them back, Heart and Soul. She hoped that at least one person down there was feeling the same joy and serenity she was experiencing. She hated to think that she was the only one who felt this blissful, that felt like nothing could ever bring her down again. "Mornin'!" a deep voice sweeps through the room. Lisa's concentration is still bound to that window, and the thoughts of what those peoples lives were like. "Lisa?" The voice says a little louder as it comes a little closer. The noise startles her out of her trance and she turns suddenly to see Marcus's concerned face "Oh? Sorry, Just day dreaming. Morning!" she replies as he steps in next to her. He lets out a little relieved chuckle and asks "You Alone?" as he scans the room. Lisa smirks and looks around the empty room as well "Yep!" she says popping the 'p' He feels his cheeks flush at his silly question, but shakes it off and turns his attention to the window "Anything interesting?" he asks. Lisa shakes her head "Not really, just another Beautiful Day." Her focus still on the view. "Did you sleep okay?" he asks politely, she shrugs "Yeah, not bad. You?" he gives his head a small shake "Not Really." His voice sounding distressed. She turns her attention to him and questions "Is there a problem?" she sighs a little before continuing "Sorry, I ask that way too often! Ignore it." He forces a little grin and lets out an uneasy chuckle "It's okay! And in a way yes." She frowns, "What is it?" he looks over his shoulder again scanning the room, making sure that they are alone. "Just this nagging suspicion in the back of my mind." He finally says coolly. She stares at him worriedly waiting for him to continue when he seems slow to respond she asks "Is it something about Alex?" He looks at her apologetically "No! I'm confident you've seen the last of him. It's just... well... Vicki and Nigel. I don't trust them, something just doesn't feel right. I've seen them whispering and looking at you a few too many times." Lisa laughs and pats his arm "Marcus, relax. People are allowed to look at me, it happens all the time." He frowns "I know that but they just seem to always stop suddenly when they realize I've noticed. I can't put my finger on it but I know they are up to something. I just want you to watch you back. Just be careful around Vicki especially." Lisa leans her head on Marcus's upper arm, as he is too tall to reach his shoulder "That's so sweet that you are so worried. But don't be. Look she's a really good friend of the family. And Kevin trusts her so I trust her too. I'm sure you're just on edge still from last week. But don't worry I'm fine. In fact I've never been better, I Love Kevin and he Loves me... It's all I ever wanted." Marcus grins down at her thinking *Maybe she was right. Maybe he was over analyzing things. But that was his job and no matter what or who he was going to do it. And if that meant keeping an extra eye on Vicki and Nigel then he would, for Lisa's sake, she deserved nothing less.*

a short chapter for today... I don't know if I'll get another one up... I really should post more Time After Time.

Oh we need a vote we have Kesa but we need names for the others
we have Jacey, Jocey, Jracey or maybe you can think of something else
then there is Nilleen, Nolleen, or lets see what else you've got.

Joe and Tracey = Jocey, Jacey, Jracey (not sure yet)

Nick and Colleen = Nolleen, Nilleen

I work with a Corinne that's weird it's not a name you hear that often

As for Time After Time ... I got a little stuck but I think I've worked it out so hopefully I'll post something soon. ;D Thanks for commenting and reading.

I'm so confused. But what's new? Who's Kesa? I LOVE Time after time! Seriously, it's my favorite. No joke. For some reason I just do... I love the way they met, and such. XD I love the name Corinne! One of my best friend's name is Corinne, and she hates it because people always mispronounce it (saying Cor-een or Corin when it's really CORE-INN) but I think it's beautiful. Out of those names, I like... hmm... Jacey. Sorta. I like Corinne better! The person AND the name! ;)
