Semantic Memory: Effective Questioning Techniques

Another way to help students connect to semantic learning is by associating information to their previous experience. Asking questions like "Have you ever experienced this?", "Have you experienced that feeling before?", and "Have you ever been to a place like that?" helps students link what is being taught to things they already know and recognize. When we can get kids to connect information to something they've done before, felt before, or learned before, we can associate new information with episodic memory to remember semantic information.
