What mother doesn't want to provide the basic neccesities for her child? Who wouldn't desire to make life a little easier? Is it really useless to help these people? What difference does it make to you- if you are not one of those educating or helping these people? What did YOU have to give up? It sounds that you are saying NOT to help these people because one day there will be a population boost and later famine, so why bother? That's a very heartless way to perceive the suffering of souls.

I agree with you in a sense; we need not go around deciding for others whether or not they are "civilized". There are those who choose to live simply on a bare minimum, close to nature. There are those who purposefully deny modern advancements. However, for these Mothers who struggle to feed their families due to famine, war, or whatever the case may be, it is a blessing to gain that power over their own lives and fates.

Yes it seems their education is very practical; to produce immediate results for those specific communities. They may not receive the sort of education an engineer would get here in the US, but the output from individuals receiving this education in India would be just as life changing!!! Here in America it's not even guaranteed you will get a job, and the debt is crippling that students must repay. These industrious women go home & make a huge difference for her people.

I doubt these grandmothers could give a shit about your personal views. They're grateful to improve upon the daily lives of their loved ones. Who gives a shit about who is smarter or what level of education achieved? The point is they receive a practical education and skills which can raise the quality of living.They didn't have to go into the kind of debt that we educated Americans struggle with in order to make a substantial contribution to their families.
