Black Buck...Cross Bow Hunt - September 2009 Maryland

Post hunt retrieve of a deer I shot with a newly purchased Excalibur Cross Bow on opening day of bow season. Maryland just opened up surbuban deer achery zones for cross bows, the entire bow season in select counties. I am very proud of that deer and hunt. I set out to do what I wanted and took down a good animal with a new wepon. Excalibur Phoenix, Easton Shaft, 150 grain Broadhead. Thanks for watching.

Just thought you might like to know that is usually wise to gut your kill between 20-30 mins, due to the fact that after that the gases from the intestines leak into the entire carcass which essentially ruins all your meat. I'm a credentialed butcher of over 10 years and i can tell you right now that that deer is going to taste awful.

@SLINK25 ...I agree with you. With that certain things come into factor when hunting I take into account. I xbow killed this deer the evening before and didnt want to push it and not be able to recover it. Two it was below 50 degrees that night, which helps and three we used only the leg quarters meat still pink red which we slow smoked. I find those parts least effected at any rate of recovery I'm safe and never waste what can be used, time down 5:30pm-early next morning. Thanks for watching

Im glad to see you dont take any deer even a doe forgranted because there ae people in this world who dont have the oppertunity to hunt or fish like we do we are very fortunate.

Good video. Love my Excalibur. hell, I love to hunt. I now spend everyday, off season as well, thinking, putting up stands, scouting and dreamin' of the kill. Mad Dog.

you guys downstate have it good, region a only gets six deer a year.

western maryland really needs to beef up its management program.
