The spirit of owls

Owls are often loved and respected or feared and rejected. We hold the first view of them and have adopted some of the Native beliefs about their special attributes and have them as a power animal. The owl is a nocturnal bird associated with the moon and feminine energy. Shrouded in mystery, the owl has been worshiped in some cultures for its ties to wisdom and fertility, and feared in other cultures for its ties to death, darkness, and evil. North American tribes believe the owl possesses great healing powers. Shamans who use owl medicine have the ability to uncover secrets, to expose that which is hidden in shadows.

I recently tried to get in touch with my animal spirit, and to my surprise, it turned out to be an owl. I don't think I was always an owl, I think before my animal spirit was a fox or squirrel, but my life changed drastically in the last month and I feel I've grown wiser and gained insight into secrets, deception and the unknown. I now realise this embodies the owl.

Why do some people say owls are evil? Some want to kill them?

It's ben years i have been wondering why i had such strong connections with owls. My name is Nisha (which means night)...One morning I woke up with a 14 inch white owl on my leg in Mumbai city. Ever since then I have been seeing them every where in every form. There are times I have had conversations with them and I don't know if they can understan me but they always give me a sign they are hearing me in curosity. I love them and I have embraced them and they are a part of my life.

In my view all these sightings and dreams reveals that owls are letting you know that they either want to align with you as a power animal or they have a message for you about something that is going on in your lives. You might want to get a copy of Ted Andrews books ANIMAL SPEAK AND ANIMAL WISE. Itis wonderful reference for power animals.
