This is my flying ship film after 7 months of work. The main two puppets are about 6" tall. The deckhand has a wire armature while the capt has a ball and socket armature. All puppets are cushion foam build up with latex skin. The film is shot at 24fps put together in stopmotion pro and compressed with quicktime pro. The outside set that the ship flys over is about 8 feet long and had to be built outside in the woodshop. Any frame editing was done with photoshop. My camera is Finepix 3800 set at .3 mpixels captured at 800x600 in stopmopro. Frames were captured with a digital camera and with a webcam assist. It is about 5000 photos. All music is royalty free.

  • That's awesome - love all the little details like the crates - and that little green robot was amazingly animated!

  • one of the crates under the stairs has a Judder photo on it as a reference to your films. It just doesn't show up very well in the film.

  • Fantastic work John - the sets are amazing and the animation is really smooth!

It's also tons of fun trying to spot all the references to other animators - thanks for putting a woolly monster sticker on that crate, it made my day!

  • the crate is filled with your latest film releases...and woolly monster toys...

  • Great job! Did set/puppet building take more effort and time than animation?

  • the set making and puppet making took almost half the time of the total production.
