This is an open question to the Canadian Armed Forces.
*A note about the video clip: The title said Chechnya, but I am not certain if it is. The young men in the clip are Muslim and speak Arabic and I'm not certain if the Chechen Muslims speak Arabic or not.

  • good common sense ALSO Many Americans would like to apologize to the British citizens due to our president Obama's insults to your PM.

  • Who knows? Maybe PM Brown likes DVDs.

I would have loved to see Brown's expression when, after handing over a pen set hewn from the timbers of an anti-slaving ship and a first edition of the most comprehensive Churchill biography to date, he received a stack of classic US movies from Obama... whoops.

  • I didn't forget the US was supplying the mujahideen with FIM-92s. What worries me is war profiteers will always sell to someone. That's why I included the video clip of the recent downing of a Russian chopper (equipped with many of the anti-s-t-a missile defenses similar to those we use) by Muslim militants. Don't forget that stingers, though developed by the US, are also made in Germany and used by over 20 countries. I didn't forget about stingers; they're what I was concerned about.

  • I can rest assure that our military personnel will take every precaution necessary to keep our troops safe, but I'm with you here Baron...it seems quite risky using helicopters...but what do I know?

What worries me also is wondering if those helicopters are in top shape to perform in such critical situations.

  • Well i'm no military analyst, but i have played a lot of video games....I'm sure that the people in charge of this have weighed the cost vs. risk of the helicopters. Especially since they've been operated by other countries in Afghanistan for the past 8 years and seem to be effective.
