The train is 4MC2 with EMD power at the front end. The locomotives are a JT26C-2SS and a pair of AT42C EMD units built in Australia with EMD components. The location is near Tallarook in Victoria. The old drivers called this little hill and big hill. The train is coming down big hill and hits the bottom at the culvert that you can see. Water is smart and always finds the low point. Smart drivers know that and that is where you want to be in notch 8 regardless of which direction you are going. These sudden changes of topography always make for some interesting train handling techniques.

  • Great video and the trailing units do look like our F45s here in teh US!

  • very very long train - lovely capture.....

  • The 2nd and 3rd locomotives looks like a modified version of the F45's the the Great Northern, and Santa Fe railroads has here in the US.
