  • Thanks. Since you are obviously a Gurung fan I shall tell you. It is Thak - on the road up to Sikles. You probably passed below or through it... Alan

  • Dear Ayabay, the poster, thank you for posting this wonderful video of a beautiful place. I enjoyed watching this, I am a Nepali too. Would you mind changing the heading or title to Nepal or Himalaya or Pokhara etc.of this video so the people can pool or find the video from the site asily. I am the second person watched this video, no body is watching, no comments you can see. Probably because of the long title "anthropological field work in Gurung village" I think. Thank you.

  • Thanks for this nice comment. I will one day change this - but it takes a lot of editing to do so, so please forgive not doing so straight away. Actually, it was on th private side of youtube for some months - so only went up two days ago, so others may now find it. Best wishes, Alan

  • as you said, when you come to this village or any village in nepal, its like going back in time machine and see how people would live 1000 years ago. I find that pretty interesting. The isolated village and hardship labor of this villagers must be really fascinating. I myself am a gurung now living in canada. Westerner do find it amazing. It is a different way of life invillage.

  • even for me. i was raised most of life in city. Thanks for doing this for gurung. I just wanne thank you for documenting this. we are much obliged ..by the way first gurkhas were conscripted from places like lamjung and kaski.not like these days.

  • where its taken as a profession..back then we hadno choice..thanks again ahha ..rulers of nepal forced the to be in the army..to serve east-india company ..but our community did benefit a lot from being in the british army. thanks for doing research ...our community owe you a lot

  • hey ayabaya can you tell me which village is this ?? please,, i enjoy watching this vedio ...
