  • John, I seriously doubt that you would be able to produce 1000HP from only 3.3 liters of displacement. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as a general rule, aren't most NA engines only good for about 100HP/1000cc and turbocharged about 200HP/1000cc?To make a 3.3 liter engine produce essentially 300HP/1000cc, you would need two turbos and I doubt it would be reliable.

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey - The Offy engines produced upwards of 1200 hp in their day with a big hair-dryer and they were 181 cid and 4-cylinders.

  • If I send a stock EJ25 Subaru short-block to you, and you sleeve it, is the bore still 99.5mm like stock, or is the bore smaller after being sleeved? Alternatively, do you have any EJ25 short-block cores for use?

  • @mbdulka - I can push the bore to upp to 103mm. I have EJ25 cores.

  • PRICE?! No one ever posts the damn prices. Maybe it's so high they don't want to scare anyone away.

  • 4 cylinder: $1800

    6 cylinder; $2250

Includes: sleeves, installation, honing to size, surface block, and alignhone JE...

  • 4:36 ... probably the best PRO-open-deck explanation I've ever heard.

1,000 HP SVX!? Can you say SLEEEEEEPER! :)

  • He didnt say it was a 1000hp engine he said its "GOOD UP TO 1000hp" so if no boost is added then it will be the 220hp that will be bullet proof. to get 1000hp you need like 25psi+ and ARP bolts all around. New H Billet Rods and lower compression Forged pistons, free flow exhaust, and a whole dyno mapped ECU. thats how you can try to get to 1000hp.

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey Supras are 3.4 litres/3400cc stroked and they make well over 1000hp

  • @AlabamaCrackerHonkey There are 1000hp sti race cars.... I think those use a 2.0-2.5 liters of displacement.

  • You can squeeze a lot of power out of turbo engines but it sacrifices reliability. Just look at the 1000hp/litre F1 engines of the turbo era or 1000hp/litre top fuel dragster motors. That makes 300hp/litre look easy!

  • Hey John, can you take a look at a picture of a recently machined B20A5 (Honda Prelude 2.0si) and tell whether or not the surface finish *looks* okay? To me it looks like crap, but since you're a professional....just wonder what you think. Thanks so much. (please remove the --- from the url)
