@dillionbeavers1231 Yeah the they also sold the Atlanta Braves and Hawks that made money. WCW being sold for a cheap price was because AOL didn't understand the value of it. If WCW sucked so bad Vince McMahon wouldn't be making a lot of money off of Horsemen DVD's and all kinda NWA/WCW dvds hes putting out. Yeah they wanted wrestling gone from the network. When Vince was losing money the same thing could of happen to him but lucky for him he never went public.
Now the company is public.

well lets face it your partly right but if the wcw was the money making machine it was in 96 at the time aol bought out ted they wouldve still backed it but it was so shitty by like 2001 that they didnt see it turning around and decided to sell it for about a million dollars from what i hear @Slacker4LiFe247

You really think Vince McMahon really put WCW out of business not that AOL/Time Warner that brought out Ted Turner and didn't want nothing to do with wrestling. Pretty much whats happening now in the WWE Vince went public and only owns 70% of his own company.
