Oxo Cube Contains Living Maggots, Fly/Beetle/Insect

This is a video of the last of a pack of Oxo Beef Stock cubes we bought. We had three left, which - just to be clear - means we had eaten several.

I unwrapped one and to my horror found moving maggots + a fly. I have mobile phone camera images + a video showing this. The second was the same. Both of these were rapidly disposed of - after photographing. This was the third and final from the batch. This video shows the moment I unwrapped it. Lovely. Just to repeat, we've eaten some of these previously.

So, whoever makes Oxo Beef Stock Cubes, I'd like you to get in touch. You have some answering to do. I've sent you a contact form submission, so you know how to reach me.

And I kept the cube + the fly. They are here on my desk, wrapped in clingfilm. Where should I send them?

The video is public, and will remain public. I'd actually prefer if any response/investigation were public too!

Isn't this the stuff of class action lawsuits? Where are the lawyers when you need them?

Nothing happened, they apologised and told me it wasn't their problem, and gave me some vouchers. Given how many others seem to be having the same problem, I would suggest this is entirely their problem...

I have now been informed that Oxo (Premier Foods) have viewed the video and will write to me with a full explanation. They have not yet told me how they intend to explain the fact that the cube contains living white maggots + beetle like insects without collecting in the evidence, but we shall see.

They also offered to reimburse me, which I find somewhat comical.

Two days (2 Feb 2012) ago I found maggots in a beef Oxo cube - looks identical to yours.

I contacted Premier Foods and now await a response.

Just been cooking tonight, and found live maggots in our Beef Oxo Cube as well. Super Grossed out. We had about 6 cubes left in a box, and ALL of them had these in it.

Oxo need to sort this out if it is still happening! What happened for you after contacting Oxo?

i rang the number on the oxo box when i found maggots and a insect in 1 of my cubes,they reimbursed me 10pounds worth of vouchers.sent me a letter saying these were australian spider beetles and they are not in their factory ......yeah right.probably full of protein though! yuk

I was nibbling an oxo cube last night as i sometimes like to with a glass of milk and i found little maggots and a live beetle in mine too...after I had eaten most of it >_< I spewed. I should check the rest.
