Subsidies hurt all folks. Whether it's for health care, housing, food stamps, milk subsidies, education, economic development - government control. Fascism. Our government helps other nations by subsidies THEM or allowing imports to compete. We already KNOW what China does to our food. Vote out ever Rep and Dem and never vote for one again. Save America.......

I think you are being unnecessarily cynical. It is possible for a determined minority to change the system from within. I think vocal groups still influence public policy.

You may believe that if you wish, but it gives you no power and no possibilities. You just give up control. Another option is to take action by writing to your house dot gov or your senate dot gov or enrolling people, just like Mr. Dan Imhoff and Michael Pollan, who are also concerned about the way we eat and the world we live in. It does matter. I challenge you to take action.

The reason that people do not care is because it does not matter!! Whoever has the strongest congressman will get the most money -- PERIOD - weather they need it or not!! It is never "need" that decides these matters - it is always political strength - always has been - always will be.
