An old man from Khawalag Village of Nili, Daikundi is leading to inaugurate Muharram services in a mosque by stepping slowly in a circle centered by a sacred flag of Hazrat Abbas (AS). He is reciting verses and children replies to him.
This is simple ritual but actually a smooth transformation of religious beliefs to youth from the old generation. I was wondering, that Hazaras paid huge prices of blood to protect and cherish these beliefs. They were massacred by King Abdurrahman (1878 - 1898) and continued till most recently by the Taliban in 1990s.
