His wife sadly passed away before his audition, and him singing this song has all the emotions from that horrible loss. I feel his pain, it must be so hard for him. Im grateful and thank god he is where he is, he deserves it. A true inspiration.

I never listened to the Rascal Flatts version after I heard this on Idol. I love the band but this one is just a million times better! :)
