New 2012 Ferrari California Road Test

The new 2012 Ferrari California gets a power upgrade to 485 HP and loses weight. The Drive Cannel had the opportunity to road test it. All the detractors that coined the rear design of the California the "J Lo Butt" must be blind....what's wrong with her Derriere? We like it. This Ferrari is a wolf in sheep's clothing...if you want to cruise it will. If you want to drift like Tanner Foust, it will. The slight against women, those calling it woman's car, will just have to eat their words....plenty of women can out drive men and this car proves it's worth in power and handling. It's not an entry level Ferrari, there's no such thing.

Hi Michele. Loved your review on the California. You mentioned the navigation head unit and Jeremy Clarkson saying it looks like a Chrysler unit. Funny thing is, not only does it look like it, it actually is a Chrysler head unit. I know, because I own a comparably plebeian Dodge Avenger R/T, and it has the same exact layout.

This guy is a twit -- his opinion is a monotone of effusive shilling for Ferrari.

The California is a car Ferrari should just sell for profit and never mind the suckers that want an entry level exotic hairdresser's car.

I drove the thing at length -- it's heavy, it shifts heavily, the suspension is junk, the interior is painted silver plastic knobs, the roof is an ugly mess of exposed cables and elastic straps. Junk.

If you can't afford the 458, get a Scuderia and be in a great Ferrari.
