  • Indeed, it will take time for artists in this genre to be accepted if they work exclusively on space themes. Unfortunately only when artists establish themselves in a traditional genre or creative career -- such as concept artists or landscape painters -- are they accepted in the broader art community.

    Hopefully we can be a part of bringing about that change.

  • Fine Art is a tough boxing ring (bailywick) kind of situation. Anyone who has specialized in illustration and painting of space themes has always been considered an outsider. Just because the Smithsonian can have a display DOES NOT mean any regular art museums would ever accept a genre of space art.
