When George Washington was a teenager, he wrote a school assignment called "Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation". His 101 rules should still apply today, but do they? In our self-centered world of cell phones, text messages and email, has the concept of civility taking a giant step backward?

The idea of "choosing to be civil" is creeping into so many circles lately that it's the subject of a community-wide initiative called "Choose Civility."

On this episode of Campus Conversations we explore local author, Steven Michael Selzer's take on Washington's rules of civility and discuss the effort to make being civil to one another a priority in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Guests Include:
Esther Newman, Founder & Executive Director, Leadership Montgomery
Lon Anderson, Spokesperson, AAA Mid-Atlantic
Steven Michael Selzer, Author, "By George! Mr. Washington's Guide to Civility Today"
