It's actually the best ever demo for one of these guitar...I just couldn't fit it into the title space. This is a gorgeous McCarty Soapbar model dressed up with a 10 Top, Birds, and a Solid Indian Rosewood Neck. Because the color is Grey-Black and my lighting wasn't great, you can't tell how pretty it really is...it still shows through at times. It is a 2003 and these are discontinued...you can't get this guitar anymore and even when you could, the Solid Rosewood neck upgrade makes this one very rare. My usual rig...plugged straight into a Fender Super Sonic with an Avatar 2x12 all speakers are 12" Hellatone 30's. This will probably go the way of eBay soon. Thanks for watching...comments, questions, and suggestions welcome!

  • Wow... That is a thing of beauty.

  • @zaulkin It sure was sweet...maybe a bit bright, but easily compensated for (I had all the tone controls full up on the amp)...I'm using an SE Soapbar these days and loving it almost as much, maybe even more (especially from a comfort level...with the beveled forearm and belly cuts)...it's just plain white though, so not nearly as pretty, but at less than 1/4 the price, I don't have to worry about it at all...gonna probably throw a better nut on it though...but even as it is (stock), I love it!

  • how much did u sell this for??

  • @karakannas666 You're welcome...let me know what you wind up with!

  • @greengtrs that sounds great, thanks for the explanation!

  • @karakannas666 Oh no...it is a more "well balanced" wood...strong bass, mids, and treble...but when I'm talking mids, I am talking the whole range of the guitar...which is essentially all mids (low mids to high mids)...you can't touch what a bass guitar does nor what cymbals can. I found it to be incredible...the natural neck (vs. heavily finished) lets the woods ring out more...I've had several of each over the years...you don't lose anything and you get stronger mids which you want for leads!

  • @greengtrs well i'd like to have strong mids for sure, but does this mean rosewood loses clarity from the highs?how does it handle solos on the very high frets?(im not too familiar with frequencies;p)

  • @karakannas666 Mahogany is not as strong in the mids as Rosewood but I find I like all Mahogany guitars the best...but this is so personal a choice...I don't cut mids on my amp like many players do...it is the mids that help you cut through the mix (Marshall amps have a very strong, "cutting" mid frequency...it's why their 50 watt amps sound so much louder than anyone else's). I did think it was worth the money though...if you have it to spend and can experiment...it made a big difference...

  • what's the tonal difference between rosewood necks and mahogany standard necks? which is brighter?is it worth such an investment?pls respons, thanks;p

  • @viperBSG

The one thing I fault PRS with is not making those necks one piece versus a glue on fretboard. I don't like my glued on maple fretboard. Of you have played a Strat or Tele one piece maple neck you know what I mean. Rosewood has such great sustain and tone it is crazy.
