Everybody's favorite 80s song. It's Don't Stop Believing by Journey, FC'd on expert drums.

I squeezed all three frontends here. Woo hoo.

I got rid of alot of my old vids since they flat-out sucked compared to my abilities today, keeping no more than my break of a million points and my two FCs, all three vids on PS2. Now I rock out on PS3 with both Guitar Hero Metallica and Rock Band 2, playing them pretty equally at the present, but with the latter having taken up much more of my time, and having quite a bit of DLC downloaded for it as well.

My setup has gone from a shitty Rock Band 1 EL set to a decent Rock Band 2 set. I'm on my third RB2 set though, unfortunately, as these sets have a tendency to have their pads bubble up and actually have the entire rubbery top piece eventually wedge its way off. My third set only has a bubble on the red pad so far, which shows no signs of popping out in the near future.

The change in kick pedals has been even more dramatic. I've gone from a RB1 pedal with a piece of wood riveted in it, to a double bass setup with a RB2 factory pedal on my left foot, and even more dramatic, an OMEGA Pedal on my right. I've seen the Omega Pedal given a lot of flack, but I, as an actual drummer, find it to be the perfect pedal to my styling.

I only use the left-foot pedal when playing Expert+ in Guitar Hero Metallica.

I use a Dazzle to record my vids. Look it up on Google.

Also, be sure to check me out over at ScoreHero, on both the GH and RB sides! My name there is gdl176, just to match up with my PSN ID.

Copyright notice: This song has been officially licensed by Harmonix and MTV Studios for playback and use in the videogames Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Please see the following page for more details - http://www.rockband.com/dlc

Enjoy the vid!

  • dont put your damn notes in while Steve Perry is making his magic you damn dirty dick!

  • First off, while he was singing, I was just playing simple kicks. Just laying down a rhythm, none of the crazy shit some of the bastard here on YT do. Second, look at my Bring Me to Life vid. See if that annoys you as much. Last, why would he care? He's not even in the fucking band anymore!

  • your fills are terrible

  • for one, I play this game on an HDTV, which means the controller lag is absolutely horriffic. I'm playing everything in perfect time on the set of drums. (in the intro)

second, my fills during the freestyle segments aren't meant to be good in this song. they're meant to fill the green note at the end up as quickly as I can so I can have time to prepare to squeeze in the note under it.

  • @kishy214

Here's something to tell PortlyPete: That song is originaly sung by Steve Perry, but do you really think they paid him $1000 just to sing a song for a videogame? NO! That's not the real Steve Perry, just someone mimicking him.

On a side note, you are not a damn dirty dick and you are great at playing the drums. Those "kicks" you were playing at the beginning weren't bad at all.

Do you play the drums for real?

  • @BulletTimeStudios That's the real Steve Perry man. This is the original master track of this song from 1981.

And yes, I have videos now of myself on a real drum set. I have pretty much quit playing Rock Band altogether.

  • What if this was charted with the hi-hat as the red pad, not the green pad? I hate open-handed drumming...

  • this is for people who don't have the drumset. this is way easier then it looks. the trick is to not use your toes to push. use your heel and hold it down until the next one. that makes it so your foot doesn't hurt as much.

is this DLC or a oringinal rock band 2 song. cause this song belongs in rock band.

i have rock band 2 but i havn't played it yet. is it easier or harder then guitar hero. cause i have smash hits and it was hard.

  • Epic Win. (:

  • dont stop believing + Freddie Mercury singer= WIN

  • Don't fuck the intro man... .l.

  • first of all, u kinda ruined it with ur extra notes. second, ur also a fag for ruining one of journey's best songs ever. respect steve perry u fag

  • @ZombieHitman13 umm. no, you heard miss information. pro guitar/drums are avalible on all dlc before rock band 3. and the rest would take a while to get the pro bass/keyboard. ther still working on it.

  • @BulletTimeStudios Rock Band uses Master Tracks unless stated, meaning everything in the song is the real original

  • @gollyimgully1 yeah, you won't be able to play that on the keybaord tho. If ur playing keyboard on a downloadable song released before rock band 3, you play the guitar track apparently

  • dude, seriously, just hear that piano in the beginning. i fucking cant wait until rockband 3. Keyboard FTW
