Next, Doyle splints are inserted into the nose. These splints are more rigid and will help stabalize the septum. In Addition, they are more comfortable for the patient than traditional packing as they are much easier to remove and provide a breathing channel for the patient to breathe through.

Finally a cast is placed on the nose to protect your nose and help it retain its new shape during the first few days of the healing phase.
