So you pull up to the Skippy Lube. The service men are leering at you, sizing up your wallet. And you can't help but think, "If I pay these thugs, are they really going to fix anything?"

  • I'm only doing this because I care. I know you're a stickler for grammar, so I had to correct you. "You can't help but think..." (double negative) should be "You can't help thinking...."

  • LOL, he showed a belt with cracks perpendicular to the groves. That's NORMAL.

    A belt like that is bad when there is a significant piece missing from one of the ribs (generally about an inch), a chunk missing out of two neighboring ribs, or a crack longer than 1 inch in parallel with the ribs.

    In his defense though, many worn or broken parts cannot easily be demonstrated by video. Anyone who's ever replaced a bad bearing can tell by feel.
