Third Degree tackles the controversial issue of ethnic hair. Hair is such an important part of our identity -- it says something about us.

But for black women, it's an even more complex issue.

Natural hair versus the weave. It may sound frivolous but this frivolity belies something far deeper.

It's about race, Eurocentric versus African values and exactly what defines beauty.

Third Degree on the big hair debate.

3,400 B.C. is roughly the first documentation or proof of hair weaves. The Egyptians weren't fans of any body hair, minus their heads. They wore extravagant wigs, sewn-on hairpieces and braids.

So now Bonani (what'ever her name is) is returning back to Egypt?

this model lady is so ignorant. does she really think indian girls and woman have any rights?? does she think those girls have any say in what is going to happen with their hair. and saying "the money goes back into the community" is BS. There is a fat cat behind the scene getting rich and corruption is ripe.

WTF i have beautiful brown hair. tell you what...i'll grow it and every 6 month ill sell it to that dude for R2000 bucks. Why go to india when you can do the same thing here. Proudly South African hair!!!! But in any case, if the temple sells peoples sacrificed hair, its still wrong. you are just using their followers to make money. they should burn the hair. that would be a real sacrifice.

Lol they hate white women for being so beautiful, it's like they are trying to find someone to blame for their uglyness.
