I don't know about the ratings, but the number of viewers went down by 3 million on the first epsiode of season 12 (the lowest amount of viewers since the Season 1 premiere), and they only got lower and lower for the other three that have been on so far.

In my opinion, we can survive with just The Voice and The X Factor. Idol is at it's "time."

My concern right now is what would happen if the Idol rating should slip again? I am also uncertain if Phillip Phillips will have a long music career. Only the song Home was his charted song. Would Idol be in jeopardy again after this season is over?
