Jaguar has unveiled the C-X16 ahead of the concept's debut at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

The C-X16 is a 2-seat rear-wheel drive coupe with a hybrid drivetrain and a perfect 50:50 weight distribution between the two axles. The compact measures 4,445 mm in length, 2,048 mm in width and 1,297 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,622 mm, making it the smallest Jaguar since the 1950s.

The concept is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 with an output of 380 PS (280 kW / 375 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque coupled to an 8-speed gearbox with an integrated motor generator. That generator draws power from a 1.6 kWh battery pack and is able to provide an additional 95 PS (70 kW) and 173 lb-ft (235 Nm) of boost. This boost option is activated from a "Push to Pass' button on the steering wheel. The C-X16 uses regenerative braking to feed the batteries.

That drivetrain provides the C-X16 with a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time of just 4.4 seconds and an top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

The C-X16 can travel on electric power along for a limited distance and at speeds up to 88 km/h (50 mph). CO2 emissions are 165 g/km.

  • this car looks awef...BEAUTIFUL O_O

  • @jmar28a safety regulations... when a design goes through that it changes a lot... but sometimes some parts of the design are not easy to make and to time consuming so the engineers have to change parts of the car to make it more production suitable.. cost efficiency and other stuff... but these guys who call the car they seriously need to have their eyes checked.. but you might also notice that Jag didn't make an ordinary concept, production ready was in their mind by the look of it :)

  • People who say this car is ugly are simply just haters who can't even afford a car like this!stop hating losers!i own a jaguar so I can talk!jaguar fan for life!

  • @khmeraustrian maybe not every model bt yes

  • ugly car, looks like a honda

  • This is one of the best looking cars in the history of mankind.

  • @jmar28a they make a concept to gauge public opinion and if their target market think its spot on they will make it exactly how the concept looks (the citroen DS3 for example) but often the public (who are a bit boring sometimes :P) will say that its too dramatic and it will stand out too much, so the car companies tone it down. the fact that the C-x16 is a very realistically sized and modelled concept means it will probably go into production as it is, maybe with some tiny changes.

  • it's too fat and big

  • ugly car
