My dad and friends use to do this back in the day NY.  Essential you create the traffic jam to clear a path for you in front. They have since wised up and now take their cars to the track.

@w140king I have been on the SR scene for about 15 years, from Va to Tx. I guess we were smarter back then. We didn't stop traffic, we found the best place to race with the least amount of traffic and the most exits. So yes it is called illegal street racing, but even more than that it's called stupidity
